When you purchase a Lottery ticket, you’re contributing to life-saving missions on the water. The funds raised enhance the capabilities of our volunteer Coastguard search and rescue units by providing essential equipment, training, and support.
Our volunteers dedicate their time to rescue those in distress, assisting countless individuals annually. Thanks to them, many people are safe today who might otherwise not be. This heroic work is made possible by supporters like you.
How can I buy a ticket?
Tickets are available online, by phone, or by post. Visit our current Lotteries for details, or join our mailing list to receive notifications when our lotteries open.
Can I receive my tickets by email?
Absolutely! Choose the email option on the online form, inform our customer care team by phone, or tick the box on the order form. It’s convenient, eco-friendly, and saves Coastguard money—everyone benefits!

Do I need to be a New Zealand citizen or resident?
Not at all! You can buy tickets and win prizes regardless of your visa status. However, note that prizes must be delivered within New Zealand per our licences, so make arrangements if you win but don’t live here.
What happens if I win a prize?
We’ll be in touch! We’ll call to deliver the good news and send an email or letter to confirm your win. Ensure all your details are accurate on the order form, as sometimes we don’t have contact information for winners.
Where can I find the results?
Results are posted on our website and emailed to ticket holders. Check out recent winning numbers here. We aim to publish results within 48 hours of the draw to allow time for contacting winners, verifying purchases, and following our procedures.

Are Lotteries allowed to sell on the internet?
Yes. Coastguard conducts lotteries that are considered by the Department of Internal Affairs as being "Class 3" lotteries, Class 3 lotteries are allowed to be sold over the internet.
Are each of your Lotteries licenced?
All charities are required to apply to DIA for a lottery for each lottery they run once it has prizes worth over $5,000. Coastguard is no exception, and we always show the licence number in the terms and conditions.
How do you draw each Lottery?
Coastguard draws the lotteries at our Marine Rescue Centre in Mechanics Bay, Auckland with NZ Maritime Police in attendance. The draw is conducted by marble sequence and is open to the public. So, if you can, why don't you come on down and see the action - you never know, we have had winners at the draws in the past.
