We need your help to fund our future. Together, let’s make our oceans safer. On average Coastguard brings home 17 people per day to their families. Brothers, sisters, sons and daughters, one day it could be you.
We’re Aotearoa New Zealand’s primary maritime search and rescue organisation. We’re also a charity, powered by volunteers, and we rely on the generosity of everyday people to support the lifesaving work we do, on and off the water. You can give your time in a rewarding role as a volunteer, or make a financial contribution through a donation or buying lottery tickets. The government funds 34% of our operation, but the rest needs to come from public contributions. There are lots of ways you can help, so find out more below.
